Can I build a warranty package from a Softing or VIAVI tester, not a Fluke DSX?

Hubbell and Panduit approve Softing and VIAVI testers. Demarc reads Softing eXport and VIAVI J-Reporter CSV into the same warranty kit as a Fluke DSX export. Ideal/Trend and AEM: not yet.

What it is

Manufacturer warranty programs approve certifiers by model, and the lists are not one brand. Hubbell's list names the Softing WireXpert 4500. Panduit's approved copper tester list names VIAVI. A shop that certifies with one of them can register a warranty like anyone else, as long as the results come from an approved, calibrated tester.

How Demarc does it

Demarc reads three export families into the same results and the same warranty kit: Fluke LinkWare CSV and XML (DSX, CertiFiber), Softing WireXpert results exported from Softing eXport, and VIAVI Certifier10G/40G results exported from J-Reporter. The column mapping follows the vendors' own manuals. The native .prx project is stored untouched and shipped in the kit, like a .flw.

Not yet supported: Ideal/Trend (AnyWARE) and AEM exports. If that is your tester, Demarc cannot read its results today.

The bar Demarc is held to

A kit built from a Softing or VIAVI export through the real upload routes equals the kit built from the same links as a LinkWare CSV, and the native file in it is byte-identical: 36 tests cover the field mapping, pass/fail, limits, margins and the kit. Neither vendor publishes a sample export, so the test files carry the rows printed in their manuals, and say so.

What the usual tools leave to you

A tester vendor's reporting software reads that vendor's testers. Mixed fleets end up with results in two tools and packages assembled by hand.

Questions

Does Demarc import VIAVI Certifier results?
Yes, the J-Reporter CSV export for the Certifier10G and Certifier40G.
What about Ideal/Trend or AEM testers?
Not yet. Demarc reads Fluke, Softing and VIAVI exports today.
