Each answer starts from the words of the people who wrote the rule or felt the problem: manufacturer warranty documents, tester vendors and installers on public forums. Every quote links to where it was published. Updated 2026-10-24.
- Why does a cabling warranty submission get delayed or rejected?
Manufacturer warranty desks delay or refuse packages that are incomplete or badly organised. What they ask for, quoted, and how Demarc checks a package before you send it. - Do I send the original raw tester file or a PDF for a cabling warranty?
Hubbell refuses PDFs and converted files; other programs ask for the tester manufacturer's format. What each program says, and how Demarc keeps the native file byte-for-byte. - Will the manufacturer reject results from a tester out of calibration or a 2-cord fiber reference?
Panduit requires testers calibrated within 12 months; results outside the calibration year or with a 2-cord reference are refused. How Demarc checks both before you send. - How many days do I have to submit test results for a manufacturer cabling warranty?
CommScope: documents within 60 days and registration within 90 days of installation. Panduit: reports received within 6 months of the last test. Every window, quoted and sourced. - Can I build a warranty package from a Softing or VIAVI tester, not a Fluke DSX?
Hubbell and Panduit approve Softing and VIAVI testers. Demarc reads Softing eXport and VIAVI J-Reporter CSV into the same warranty kit as a Fluke DSX export. Ideal/Trend and AEM: not yet. - I save the results just in case since I warranty my work: where should they live?
Installers keep certification results because they warranty their own work. How Demarc keeps the native file and the results per project in durable storage, and what happens if you stop paying. - Does this warranty software actually do what its marketing claims?
Contractors call field software oversold when it misses its own claims. Every Demarc number, where it was measured, and what Demarc does not do.
