Demarc › Answers › How many days do I have to submit test results for a manufacturer cabling warranty?
In their own words
“all documents, including the prescribed System test results, must be submitted to CommScope for review within sixty (60) days”CommScope System Warranty terms · source
What it is
The windows are counted from different events. CommScope counts from installation, and has three clocks. Panduit counts from the last test date. Belden, Leviton and Hubbell publish no submission window in the documents we read, so the window for those programs is whatever your partner agreement says. A spreadsheet that counts every program from the same date gets at least one of them wrong.
| Program | Published window, in the manufacturer's words |
|---|---|
| Panduit |
Test reports received by Panduit: 180 days from last test date “A certified passing test report for each link and/or channel must be submitted to and received by Panduit Corp. no later than 6 months after the last date of testing is complete for the installation.” |
| CommScope |
Changes to the installation sent for approval: 30 days from installation (only if the installation changed) “All test results shall be sent for approval to CommScope along with a detailed description of the Change(s) and bill of materials within thirty (30) days of installation.” Documents + System test results submitted for review: 60 days from installation “all documents, including the prescribed System test results, must be submitted to CommScope for review within sixty (60) days of installation” System Warranty registration applied for: 90 days from installation “registration for the System Warranty must be applied for with CommScope within ninety (90) days from the date the installation is complete” |
| Belden | No submission window in Belden's published documents. Check your partner agreement. |
| Leviton | No submission window in Leviton's published documents. Check your partner agreement. |
| Hubbell | No submission window in Hubbell's published documents. Check your partner agreement. |
Each program's source document is linked on its warranty program page.
How Demarc does it
Demarc tracks each deadline from the event the manufacturer names. When it has to use the last test date in place of an installation date you have not entered, it says so, because that can only make the deadline it shows earlier, never later. A program with no published window shows "unknown", never a number we made up.
The bar Demarc is held to
The deadline tests cover every program: each milestone is computed from its stated event, and a program with no quoted window renders no countdown.
What the usual tools leave to you
Project tools for test results create projects, test setups and cable IDs and review the results; they keep no manufacturer submission or registration clock.
