Belden's "Approved Field Testers for Certified Networking Systems" is the clearest public statement of what a Partner Alliance installer must test and submit.
Requirements, with the manufacturer's wording
| Topic | What it says |
|---|---|
| Testers | Only the listed instruments qualify. Fluke DSX-5000, DSX-8000 and DSX-600 need firmware 5.4 or later; others on the list include Trend LanTEK III (3.212) and IV (1.5), Viavi Certifier (6.0), Softing WireXpert (3.91) and WireXpert 4500 (7.4), AEM TestPro CV100 (3.2.R2).

| What to test | Every cable and termination is tested; defects are fixed before system testing; every installed cable is performance-tested before the warranty submission.

| Copper limit | Copper must meet the ANSI/TIA-568.2-D CHANNEL limits. Permanent link or modular-plug-terminated-link testing is accepted only in some circumstances and needs approval for each project before testing.
“Performance shall meet ANSI/TIA-568.2-D channel limits for system warranty certification. Under certain circumstances, Belden will accept ANSI/TIA-568.2-D permanent link testing or modular plug terminated link (MPTL) testing ... Approval for deviation is required for each project prior to testing.”Source: Approved Field Testers for Certified Networking Systems (Belden) |
| What to submit and where | Send test summary reports in PDF through the Partner Alliance portal. Keep the native-format test data, including reference and set-up files.
“Test summary reports in PDF format shall be sent for system warranty certification and acceptance via the Partner Alliance portal, and a copy of the test data in the native tester format should be retained by the installer”Source: Approved Field Testers for Certified Networking Systems (Belden) |
| Calibration | The tester must be calibrated per its manufacturer's recommendation.

| Fiber | ANSI/TIA-568.3-D Tier 1 (OLTS), one-jumper method (three-jumper if the two ends differ in connector form factor). Reference cords are verified after setting the reference, at 0.1 dB or better for multimode and 0.2 dB or better for singlemode, and the verification is saved and submitted.

| Who can certify | Only Partner Alliance members can certify Belden systems (the page also gives the extended warranty range).

- Belden's public documents do not state a deadline for submitting after testing. Demarc previously carried a 60 day window for Belden that no Belden document supports; it now shows none. Check your agreement with Belden for any deadline.

Drop a LinkWare CSV export into the free checker. It looks for failing and marginal links, links with no result, duplicate IDs, mixed test limits and missing fields, and applies the rules above that can be read from a file. The file stays in your browser.
What Demarc does for this program
Demarc prepares the package; you submit it through Belden PartnerAlliance Portal. For this program the Demarc warranty kit checks:
- Belden PartnerAlliance certified-installer ID
- 100% passing certification test results (every link PASS)
- Every tester inside its 1 year calibration on the test date
- Copper tested to channel limits (Belden); permanent link only with Belden's project approval; fiber referenced one-jumper (three-jumper where the end connectors differ)
- Patch-panel / cable schedule (link-by-link record)
- Bill of materials — Belden components
- As-built drawing / floor plan
Deadline: no deadline published by Belden; check your RSP agreement. Demarc shows no countdown for Belden.
